For the longest time, faux skins were pretty terrible. They looked cheap, felt cheap, and were constructed cheaply.

That is most definitely no longer the case. The scientists behind materials such as Pinatex, (pineapple leaves), apple skins, cactus, recycled plastic, and rubber, have created a space for designers to get creative. A few veteran labels have mastered the cruelty-free leather game, but plenty more are joining. Look out for emerging brands and please tag me if you find new ones.
