Cruelty-Free Bedding

There are so many items in our homes and in our wardrobes that we would never think would be made with animal materials. Some are actually pretty obvious, but others are less conspicuous.

Duvet inserts, pillows and many mattress pads are made with real down, also known as the soft undercoat of feathers from live geese or ducks. With so many down alternatives available, eliminating animals from this equation is easily accomplished. Bamboo, microfill, plumtec, and synthetic fibers are all just a few examples of alternative bedding options.

In addition, mattresses and mattress pads typically have some sort of wool element to them as wool has the benefits of temperature regulating and durability.

Hopefully we are leaving behind a season of fires that created a lot dust and debris that get stuck in things like mattresses and pillows. And with the seasons changing and getting cooler, now is the perfect time to be getting new (cruelty-free) bedding.
