Closet Cleanout: Transitioning to Fall
Cleaning out my closet used to be a big thing. I eagerly welcomed a massive wardrobe edit as a way to connect to the ever-changing style guidelines. Making room in my closet for the newest looks and freshest products marked the changing seasons; even though I live in LA and the variety is temperate at best. On the other hand, this purge was also a bit of a time capsule, a trend identifier if you will, and quite honestly a glaring mirror of my poorly made impulse purchases.
More recently I have found myself holding onto more of my clothes, shoes and accessories. There is a noticeably smaller discard pile and the items usually consist of items I promised myself I would wear and never did, or those evil clothes that somehow “shrunk” in the wash. ;)
I also acknowledge that I have honed in not only on my style, but what cuts flatter my body. I am less swayed by current trends and I buy quality over quantity. I have become a better buyer.
With the beginning of fall on the horizon, I have been working really hard to find upcoming cruelty-free designers and products that not only observe the values of our ShopVETTED edits, but are equally beautiful and well crafted.
Happy autumn xx
